The Cotswold Outing should be within the capabilities of most reasonably
fit cyclists. The undulating route is divided into three roughly equal stages:
the first and third through south Warwickshire, and the middle one skirting the
northern fringe of the Cotswolds.
Leafy rural lanes make the Cotswold
Outing a peaceful morning's training for fit club riders,
or a pleasant day out for those who like to take their time.
The route includes excellent controls at Welford and Charlcote.
There are also unofficial refreshment
opportunities along the way for those who don't like queues.
One stiff climb has been removed from last year's route to
lower the participation threshold for older or less sporty
riders. Anyone who doesn't want to linger at the controls
is welcome to take our no-validation
option.
