| Cotswold Audax No-validation
option If you want your ride validated by Audax UK, you must collect
a sticker from each of the refreshment stops ('controls') on the route. At certain
points on the course, you also need to pause and note information, as detailed
on the ride card ('brevet card') that you are given before you set off. The idea
behind control stickers and info controls is that they enable Audax UK to be sure
that you have actually ridden the full distance. However, Beacon RCC recognises
that many Cotswold Audax entrants aren't particularly interested in AUK validation.
And they find stopping to write stuff down a bit of a nuisance. All they are after
is a good day's riding, and maybe unofficial confirmation of what they have done.
If you come under that heading, just leave the info control boxes on your brevet
card blank. Beacon RCC will put an acknowledgement sticker on your card after
the event, and return it to you as a souvenir. But it won't be validated by AUK,
and you won't appear in AUK's official list of finishers. |
