The Kidderminster Killer and From Clee
to Heaven Audaxes
The Beacon RCC's Kidderminster Killer and From Clee to Heaven
audaxes are a great day's riding for those cyclists wanting
a ride through picturesque, hilly, quiet and rural countryside.
The 2012 events will take place on Saturday 18th August.
The
Kidderminster Killer is new to the Beacon although it has a long history and
is regarded by many audaxers as a legendary, challenging and classic event on
the audax calendar. It is the toughest 200km randonee event held in the Midlands.
So it is with great pleasure for the Beacon RCC to include this event to their
audax portfolio. From Clee to Heaven is a brand new event designed
to complement the Kidderminster Killer. From Clee to Heaven will venture into
deepest rural Shropshire but venture around the beautiful blue Clee Hills using
a figure of 8 route. Strangely, the Clee Hills are rarely visited by any cycling
event, so you will be in for a treat. The figure of eight route is hilly but will
provide an easier day for people who do not fancy the tougher and more challenging
Kidderminster Killer.
As always with a Beacon RCC Audax, we shall be providing:
- Routes with stunning scenery
- Country lanes
for the majority of distance
- Controls at cycle friendly cafes, positional
at intervals to reduce congestion
- Full GPS support
- Comprehensive
and tested route cards
- Light refreshments at the start
- Post
event food at HQ
- Audax Altitude Award points
- Brevet cards for
audaxers seeking AUK validation for their ride
