Club Time Trials
Beacon
RCC organises a full programme of club time trials every year.
These include a hill climb (a short uphill effort), hilly
events on up-and-down courses and flatter ten-mile and twenty-mile
events. Most club TTs take place on Wednesday evenings, but
a few are on Saturday afternoons and one (the hill climb)
is on a Sunday morning. Some of the events are designated
as 'club championships'. The winners of these events (on absolute
time) are crowned 'club champions' at the relevant distances,
and receive trophies at the annual dinner towards the end
of the year. If you ride club TTs regularly, you can also
challenge for the season-long handicap
trophy.
Newcomers are welcome to take part in club TTs, as are guests
who belong to other CTT-affiliated clubs. A signed parental
consent form is required for any entrant who is under
the age of 18. You will need to abide by the normal rules
of the road and by CTT
regulations. You will also need to be familiar with the
course, because there are no direction signs or marshals,
so please refer to our TT
Course descriptions. If you are new to time trialling,
or you are unclear about the distinction between a club event
and an open event, please refer to our Information
for New Time Trialists.
Beacon RCC members often compete in other clubs' events;
more information is provided on our Other
Cycling Activities page.

Midlands Women's TT Series
For female cyclists in the Midlands a series
of time-trial events that has taken place for the last
three years. The series typically comprises 7 events
at various locations across the district. The aim is
to provide informal opportunities for female cyclists
to meet, to race against each other and to initiate
friendships. For all women, novice or experienced, these
events provide a distinct group of events to focus on
for the season with some good competition against several
other women. More details can be found on the CTT
Midlands District website or by contacting
our own club Women's Representative (who is the
organiser behind this new venture for the district).
