It's also worth adding that returning club run are still able to re-enter Birmingham by crossing or joining the Velo route. You can obviously use cross-roads as a pedestrian. Never been to Five Spice but the reviews look reasonable, so would be eager to try. It certainly has better reviews compared to my usual location.
