I had a fitting here - lasted about 4 hours (but that was icluding my TT bike too). I also had custom footbeds made for my shoes.
A few changes were made, but there all worked together to make my bikes much more comfortable.

The most important thing is to be comfortable on the bike, and that means having the correct fit. Whoever you purchase the bike from should be able to offer you a comprehensive fitting service as part of the purchase. If you are not particularly bothered about weight, then the 105 should be fine. Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which...

I've had this happen a few times with Lezyne pumps, both a track pump and a Road drive. Not great to have the valve core come loose and instantly deflate the tyre you've just pumped up. Lezyne now ship their pumps with a pressure release valve, which solves the problem. I've just found out that thei...

Stupidly just checked BBC Website, 8am: "Heavy Rain, 5degrees, 23mph NE wind!" Can't be any worse than mad march hare?! It won't be an easy ride!!! Then again, I did a solo four hour ride on the day of the Mad March Hare and that was pretty horrendous. Good luck and enjoy yourself - some nice scena...

Hilly 6 TT
Unfortunately I won't be riding the first TT today - I've been diagnosed with central serous retinopathy and my eyes are still blurry from the examination last night.
Anyway - good luck to everybody riding - it looks like it'll be a smashing day to get those PB's in!

Glad the browser change worked. I always use course points, as they give turn by turn instructions at each junction. You can also add a warning e.g. 200ft before a turning. Track points are just like following a line on a map From BRT: There are 2 different point types: Track Point - A basic point t...

If it isn't to do with a slow internet connection, then it may be a browser issue. I recommend you install the latest version of Firefox and give it a go with that Firefox works really well with BRT - and I've had no problems getting planned routes saved onto the Garmin. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US...

I've got a Kuota Kebel - which I use mainly for time trials. I find the handling is fine and responsive, and that's mainly on the aero bars. The bike also seems fairly stiff - even with the brake pads set really close to the rim - I get no brake rub - even when standing and putting some power down. ...

Gore Xenon gloves are pretty good - quite fine - so you have great feel with them. They work well - and keep your hands warm - they kept my hands warm on Saturday for 5 hours or so.

I would recommend Steinbeck - something like Cannery Row or tortilla Flat - good introductions to his work. Hermann Hesse - Knulp - a decent read. Huxley - Brave New World - Time must have a stop To kill a mockingbird - I agree with Dave - worth your time. Also type an author you like into this site...

Well - being keen to carry on my cycle ride I did start taking the shifter apart - I never realised they were so complex inside!!! The front face plate of the Shimano's did indeed have a spring ready to uncoil - I put this back together and left well alone. Luckily for me - it was able to be fixed i...

Cable problems...
Just 1/2 mile into a ride today, as I tried to shift up a gear, the cable snapped. The cable was fairly new too - about 3 months old. I cycled home to replace the cable - that's when the problems started. The old cable stop is stuck in the Sti lever - and the mechanism is catching on the bit of fray...

It's not very often you have to change jockey wheels---a lot of gear changing probs come from stiff links in the chain--this can cause the rear gear cage to jump. I suggest give everything a good cleaning and lubricating. I've seen some jockey wheels worn really badly but still working fine. If the...

Got this clack, clack, clacking sound - thought a spoke had gone. Phil said he saw the mech sort of jumping backwards and forwards. This only happened once - but with quite a way to go, I was dreading having a mechanical! One of the jockey wheels doesn't really spin freely - thought maybe the bearin...

Jockey wheels
After having an alarming moment during the 200k Audax, where my rear mech started playing up - I think it may be time to replace the jockey wheels.
Anyone know what a good replacement would be?
It's a Shimano 10 Speed - Dura ace 7800 mech.

I found Assos to be fairly good - Udderly Smooth didn't seem to last as long but was ok.
I now use this stuff
http://www.inmotionproducts.com/product ... _id=RECDM5
Lasts for ages, and you get 500ml as compared to 140ml of assos.
