Well done to all, and as Ruth points out, it’s nice that the club has a junior champion once again, so special praise to Ed. Just for the record, the last time the club had a junior 25 mile TT champion was back in 2005 when my own son Philip won it, with a time of 1.14.02 on a very wet morning on th...

Ed.........Sounds like you had a very bad experience at Mallory Park. To be honest, when i took Philip there a few times, he really enjoyed it. The only comment he made, was that he found the tight chicane (The Bustop) between Shaws Hairpin and Devils Elbow a bit tricky. The problem being that Devil...

I was given the following number for Mike Kowal about 18 months ago by Peter Varian who races for Red Kite Cycles. Aparently his wife does all the spraying now..........makes a damn good job of it as well. I've seen quite a few of the track frames that she's done.....really good. Give the No a try. ...

As far as i know there isn't a frame manufacturer in the world who makes there own headsets. They are made independently to one of the following standards. JIS - Japaneese Industrial Standard ISO - International Standards Organisation The problem with early Giant TCR's/OCR's which used threaded stee...

Of all the things which can cause problems on a bike saddles come top of the list. In my opinion, and i totally agree with George, position on the bike is the biggest culprit eg, if your sitting too upright your putting far too much pressure on the saddle with the resulting numbness and pain. The ot...

Schwalbe Stelvios
Hi Paul........my son (philip) has been very pleased using schwalbe stelvios.....size 700 x 23. He has won 3 Beacon club championships since 2005 on the same set of tyres and without any **flat**s i might add......that must be a record in itself. Like you say they are a bit expensive but well worth ...

Training Wheels
Colin whilst i agree 32 spokes maybe overkill for someone as light as ruth i'm taking into consideration that these are training wheels, where reliability and longevity are very important. The slight amount of extra weight that 4 spokes are going to make is obviously the trade off, and you are of co...

Wheels
For what its worth ruth i would go for a pair of hand built wheels, on the basis that you don't have to send them back to get them repaired, as with mavic factory built. Just make sure you use a good wheel builder, and you shouldn't have any problems. I would recommend mavic 32 hole CXP33 rims with ...
