Sunday 25th October 8:15 for 8:30 45 miles non stop at 16mph

I'll lead a 45 mile fairly flat non stop "Beacon Burst" at a brisk B run speed leaving the Black Horse at 08:30 - remember the clocks go back, so you get an extra hour in bed!

No sooner than I had posted this I noticed Si's post for a similar distance (with stop).

I am not try to compete with Neil's ride, just offer a shorter and quicker alternative. The forecast for tomorrow means it is going to feel pretty cold and I don't think sitting outside at a Cafe is going to be pleasant. Hence the Beacon Burst / non stop ride. We did well with the weather - a little bit of drizzle whilst we were at the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre, then dry overhead but a lot of wet roads on the return. It will be based on my usual route of just under 55 miles. There is quite a lot of climbing in the first two thirds, with the last third being a gentle climb back to Birmingham!

The B ride had quite a few riders today and I had been staying towards the back to try and keep an eye on anyone in difficulty. I have plotted a new route for tomorrow (my second ever own route) - total 56 miles and about 2,700 feet / 820 metres of climbing (and descending!). So not too hilly.
