Re: A, B and C Club runs July, August and September 2019

I'll do a 'retro run' on 4 August. This ride is likely to defy classification. Pace will depend on who's interested in coming (B or C or in between). Distance likewise. I have it in mind to do 100 miles myself (with 2 café stops). We might all do that together, or we might, for example, pootle to ca...

Today’s C run to the Meriden service started out well. 5 of us set off from the black horse. Unfortunately about 10 miles short of Meriden I suffered an almost terminal mehanical. Clearly, I shall have to review my approach to the use of deodorant. In view of a) the general apathy and b) the fact that the route I had in mind clashes with the route of the Worcester marathon, I think the 100-in-eightish idea will be shelved. I may refloat it later in the year. This weekend will...

What do B runners want to do on 19/5?

I'm down to lead the B run on 19 May. I fancy doing something a bit different, i.e. a hundred-in-eightish. That would be 160km (100mi) at roughly 26kph (>16mph), implying >6 hours' riding, plus 2 stops = 8 hours BH to BH. However, there's no point in me leading such a ride if I'm (almost) the only o...

I'll lead a B run on 19 May. If the weather in the run-up looks encouraging, and if there's appetite, I might make it a two-stop hundred-in-eight. Otherwise a conventional distance to a well-used destination, e.g. Spetchley. Details to follow early May.
