Re: Club Runs - 27th October

Very sorry to mess people around, but a client wants me to do a job that will involve working most of the weekend. So I'm afraid that I'm going to have to cry off leading Sunday's C run. I'm happy to lead on a later date this quarter instead. The next Sunday that I'm available is 1 December.

Didn't several people do a big sportive in north west France? In this context, I think that counts as an audax, Tim. But I thought a couple of people did Ride London, didn't they? Fred Whitton, anybody? And what about the Mad March Hare and its summer sister event: did none of our people do ...

Looks like the C run is using the Windlass Café on Sunday; is that correct?

Roger and I may join you at the caf, but I'm reluctant to volunteer to lead, because we're pretty slow, and a tandem's rhythm doesn't easily mesh with a group of solo riders.

.
Just two days left for claiming trophies!

We're still awaiting claims for several 2019 trophies. Surely, for example, someone wants to be crowned Beacon's Sportive Rider of the Year?

The deadline for claiming trophies is Friday, and claims are invited from all paid-up Beacon members.

Club Person of the Year

The Beacon Club Person of the Year Trophy was established by Trevor Shipway and Tony Shardlow in 1996 to recognise the 'unsung heroes of the club'. In other words, members who work behind the scenes to organise and help with the many activities that contribute to the running of the club and its prog...

Every year, members' racing and other achievements are recognised with trophies and awards in a wide variety of fields. Where possible, presentations are made at the Annual Dinner (see http://beaconrcc.org.uk/2019-annual-dinner-and-prize-presentation/). With some trophies and awards, it's easy to kn...

It looks as if there's been a slight mis-communication between me and Stu. I've paid for a long-sleeved jersey and a short-sleeved jersey, but only the long-sleeved jersey was ordered for me. I don't mind doing without the other jersey: I didn't really need it anyway. But, in the fullness of time, c...
