Re: Anyone done any sportives this year?

Hi George I completed the Gran Fondo route in the Dragon Ride this year (26th Sept 2021). 130miles and 12000ft elevation - hardest ride I have ever done but have stupidly signed up for next year! Beacon top on full display! https://www.awoladventure.com/events/humanrace/dragonride2021/racenumber/30...

1980s anyone?

Does anyone have any good photos of club activities in the 1980s? It's the only period I don't yet have saturation coverage of in the forthcoming 75th anniversary souvenir. I'm interested in anything: racing, club runs, weekends away. I have lots of material on the Flying Greenhouse and Dark Horse, ...

Re: Origin of the Snowdrop Audax

Were they organised as Beacon events from the start? Early versions of the audax page on the website (early 2000s) make it sound like the summer audaxes were the only ones the club ran at that point: https://web.archive.org/web/20021213115451/http://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/Audax.htm. Origin of the Snowdrop Audax

I know that the Snowdrop Audax was started by Alan Mason some time around the turn of the millenium. However, I'm not sure whether it was the very late 1990s or the very early 2000s. I'm inclined to think the latter, because I have a photo taken in 2003, which I know was one of the early editions. C...

Thanks, Ed. We now have an interesting situation. I've had only two responses, and they both relate to the same event.
