Thanks Andy, yeah Pete mentioned Argos as a good option... Alan I was doing a bit of research on the net last night.. A rourkie finish would be, in my eyes, great for a 'best bike' type project.. I'll look more into the stove enamel process - all sounds a bit 19th century Tipton iron forge to me!

I am the right age group to race LVRC, I however choose to race BC events at this stage. That may well change over the coming years but whilst I still feel as though my racing ability, strength and bike fitness is on a relatively steady upward trajectory I'll stick to BC and have a crack at cat2.

Mike, i agree, the session cannot be a fast ride and used as a race prep training session. The distance is too far and the session is not specific enough. There is no reason why a faster paced ride cannot be on the cards after a reasonable warm up period.
