Great set of photos, Ed, you picked your spot really well, the riders just spring off the background very nicely. Now you've used the 1DX for the hill climb photos I suppose that you don't really have any further need for a camera like the 1DX so instead of giving me back the 30p you owe me I'll jus...

Well done to Paddy and Carl, John may have lost but he's still a Beacon hill climb legend. And great to see quite a few young riders taking part and producing really good times including the Dighton clan, how many are there ?

Thanks Neil for the info, so this is nice warm up for the main event next week and a chance to see if John Hitchcock has some serious challengers for the Hill Climb Trophy.

Indeed a true legend and he came across as remarkably modest man considering the stature of his achievments.

Cheers John. Your on your 4th iphone :!: Oh well, the trouble is they just don't build things to last anymore, they should make a special edition bakelite model in brown for the discerning enthusiast, I bet that wouldn't stop working.

Thanks Cakey, it's not me who's going to use it so I'm not sure what the main purpose is going to be but you've made some good points and I'll pass them on. I'll also pass on the LESS useful information that Mr Moss knows nowt.

Is it just the bearings that need replacing ? Most modern headsets wether of the a-head type or hidden type use cartridge bearings. Go to one of the many bearings suppliers in the midlands and they will more than likely be able to offer a replacement and at a cheaper cost than replacing the whole he...

I remember that, I really did manage to squeeze a good few miles out of those tyres. It's only when you're starting to ride on innertube that you really need to start worrying  .

It is actually worth replacing jockey wheels every so often, not because they stop going round ( they will probably keep going round forever ) but due to lateral wear that makes for poor shifting . If you check the side to side movement of the top wheel and it is greater than 2mm then it is worth re...

Ah yes, Life of Brake Blocks a seminal track by swedish acid folk prog pioneers Moon Kraken. This 20 minute piece was side four on their debut album The Science of Saucepans and it has to be said the stand out track, from the hauntingly beautiful opening featuring the sound of sitar and gurgling fro...
