It's a shame the chip timing system wasn't working too well - studying the splits is part of the triathlon fun. But otherwise another well organised race.

Well done all. I was a bit concerned about the risk of ice and I wasn't even racing :D My season opener (and most likely my only tri) will be Droitwich.

I hear they diverted around the water crossing? Could have done with that to clean your shoes :)

I'd be very tempted if I wasn't already racing this weekend... I like the category system - think I'd be an unskilled enthusiast :)

I've had a few occasions where the back wheels bucked up, usually when I've been distracted and forgotten to keep pedaling. But nowadays it freaks me out the rare occasion when I'm on a geared bike and start freewheeling - there's always a momentary panick when I expect the pedals to kick me :)

I must've clocked up nearly 10,000 miles on my current chain and no cassette changes. But I am riding fixed

Ah, does that mean you're up for a 12 this year Brian :)

I've completed the last two 12s on the Records and haven't noticed any pressure loss. I doubt you'd lose more than a few PSI over a 12 hr period.

I switched a couple of years ago from Conti Podiums to Velofex Record. The Records are certainly lighter and more supple but were hard to source and very expensive. I don't share Ed's concern about using Records on the rear as the comfort and grip have so far been excellent.
