Re: Dangerous changes at Longbridge roundabout

Hi Dave. Having ridden across the new layout at Longbridge a handful of times now, I certainly find it to be a hazardous and unnerving experience. The first time I crossed it I hadn't realised it had been changed and got a bit of a surprise when the traffic coming from the left didn't stop moving! I...

Re: Tour of Flanders sportive

Hi Tim, I've done it twice and found it to be an excellent event both times. Its very popular with a great atmosphere, but this does make for very busy roads in places and can make it difficult picking your way up the narrow cobbled climbs. Last time I did it (2016) they were stopping riders at the ...

I'm not sure what to do. Being something of an hgv I'm going to have to get round at a steady pace, especially as I'm not carrying the best fitness at the moment. Whilst I'd like to ride with other beaconites I'm concerned that my broom wagon approach to climbing would ruin your ride given your abil...

Its a good ride Barry. No cafe at the end though (unless they go without telling me of course  ) so you'll have to wait to get home for your macchiato or hot frothy milk...

I need to get out early this Saturday due to family commitments so will miss the ride
Have a good one!

Roller racing

I attended a W. Mids Police CC roller racing event last night at Tally Ho. It was good fun and an excellent evening, though having had 3 weeks off the bike my 'souplesse' was somewhat lacking. Paul Prince did a great job of facilitating the event with rollers, bikes, electronic equipment etc. The ev...
