Contact the airline, they'll probably have a designed-for-the-job version that you can buy at the airport. Did it when I came home from Sweden a few years back, easier to transport the bike then pack at the airport - just need to rotate the handlebars to fit in the box, don't need to remove wheels, ...

Presumably this device comes with a built-in gyroscopic anti vibrational, self aligning system to ensure that the boundaries of the 'lane' remain parallel to the road edge at all times, regardless of the direction the cyclist is actually pointing? And what size battery pack would have to be carried!...
