Many thanks to Steve for giving a heads up on Sunday's C Run. We will start at 8.15 because I absolutely have to be there on time! We will be passing Lavender Hall so anyone who wants to can turn around and retreat for an early finish. There will be time for a stop at the excellent Berryfields Farm ...

Rea Valley 25th Anniversary Ride Sunday 3rd April 11.00
I'm going to miss this Sunday's Club Run because I'm joining this ride down the Rea Valley Route. I've used it most weeks since it opened 25 years ago. Details are here

I went to Wellesbourne today arriving at lunch time. Service was very slow because kitchen was overloaded and then my scrambled eggs were cold. Although I walked up to the counter on arrival I think the main problem was holidays sunshine and lots of families come to see the planes! Might be worth go...

I never had Eurosport but I remember the T of B coming through Malvern at while back and our gathering of Beacon RCC tifiosi being greated by Dave on the announcer's loud hailer as a premier Midlands Club as he came through in the official car! He probably said the same to other club fans but we wer...

How sad please pass on my condolences. Benny with his distinctively Italian take on issues and the English language was great fun. An excellent chef at the then Cadbury training centre the Beeches he was a regular rider on what we would now call C runs (perhaps) and also did some TTs. I last met him...

Hi George from my viewpoint I would be very happy with 50+ miles depending on weather. I dont really want the C to become a short ride. It was a great ride out today thanks to John who found lanes I've never ridden in 40 years of Beacon runs to Stourport (and will never again probably!) However, I w...

Thanks for this discussion and the comments above. I did 6,700 miles last year including a lot of town riding (I don't really commute any more) I get relatively little trouble from motorists. The risks of decorating or gardening are greater and a sedentary life probably even worse. However, while ca...

You used to be able to carry a set of spare bulbs and pop them in yourself. Now a new bulb or unit costs a fortune and requires a specialist to dismantle a lot of stuff to insert it. On the other hand lights are much better so probably you don't notice the duff unit until someone points it out. Aust...

I've picked up a few more details about Meriden - The Heart of England Cycling Club Carol Service will be held at 1300hrs at St Laurence Church, Meriden. The village hall will be open before the service at 1200hrs. What I am planning to do is stop at Lavender Hall en route so people can fuel up and ...
