Different locations, Alan. Never had any such problems with my trusty eTrex 30, so on some rides I take it as backup.
I'm resigned to fact there's a bug somewhere in the Edge.

If we really want a cycling legacy after the Commonwealth Games, money should be invested in infrastructure that allows people to cycle (and walk) safely to and from the games venues.

No panniers is best. Take clothes and laptop in on Monday by public transport or car. Commute Tuesday to Thursday carrying nothing. Take dirty washing home on Friday. Not taking laptop home is better for work/life balance too. Just a thought.
