To return to Base Handicaps you must have not competed in any club event for the current or previous 3 seasons although the rules still state that a previous Time or a course may be used The fact that many courses are new does sort of give you a restart

Also Sorry Garry Mac is out by 1 sec should be 15.00 16.11 pb 1.11 H/cap also Rosie Croggon is not a Beacon member 1 other thing that also needs to be considered is that to qualify for H/Cap points you should be a paid up member of the club which hopefully will be included in the new Rules

i think it's all a cunning plan by ed to make me slower this year. me thinks he's worried about his club 10 championship slipping away  If he slows down as much as I have since our 2 little ones arrived he might start to worry mine are 2 & 4 now so I'm on the comeback trail properly again this...

Not one for controversy, but you will go faster without a computer. That is quite the most ridiculous contribution you have ever made, Ed. Nobody has ever proved that having a computer fitted to your bike makes you ride slower. What you do with it, though............ that's another matter. Just to ...

Does everyone use 23's for winter/training use, or are 25's a better choice?? I have never used anything more than 23's since I started using Clinchers I always used to use Tubs I don't spend as much time on the road now but i'm just putting some new Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX 23's on they have wor...

I went all last season going by feel and i think it held me back and stopped me from going as hard as i could because i didn't know how fast i was going. Isn't the crucial thing here how hard you are going - not how fast you are going? As Ed says - a range of factors can affect how fast you are goi...

OK, say you are riding a 25 and you get to the turn in 20 minutes, your average speed 37.5mph, what does this mean for the rest of the race? Most likely you have had a massive tailwind pushing you along so you think easy to get under the hour I only need to average 18.75mph, but the headwind slows ...

Just finished Hero's Villians & Velodromes I found it an interesting & very informative read mainly charting Chris Hoy's career. But on reading the chapters regarding the BCF involvement in their almost non existant assistance in trying to help riders you can see why our riders were so far behind th...

Ah, does that mean you're up for a 12 this year Brian :) I've completed the last two 12s on the Records and haven't noticed any pressure loss. I doubt you'd lose more than a few PSI over a 12 hr period. I have been planning to ride the longer events again for a few years but things have got in the ...

I switched a couple of years ago from Conti Podiums to Velofex Record. The Records are certainly lighter and more supple but were hard to source and very expensive. I don't share Ed's concern about using Records on the rear as the comfort and grip have so far been excellent. How do you get on using...

Not sure on the power figures but I've only ever raced on carbon frames, think a lot of it is in the head. Best upgrade I've noticed (on my road bike) is a decent set of race wheels and going to 10 speed, didn't think it would make that much difference but everything felt stiffer. Like you say Ed a...
