If BICICIELO is an indication of cycling's current status I'd say things are looking good. A beautiful shop full of beautiful things and the guys, although not quite so beautiful, have always been really friendly and helpful. Treated myself to a Salice helmet with splendid Beacon stripe. Really hope...

Couldn't agree more Matt, a very dark and very wet ride but good all the same.
Thanks also to everyone who joined us throughout the summer, we had a fair old bunch on occasions. I think it's safe to say we got quicker and quicker but my knees are telling me it's time to slow down a bit :D

Well we all know that riding a bike is the best fun to be had with your clothes on but this evening's spin was just superb. A full-on night ride through the countryside in balmy warm conditions. Like a speedy mobile Xmas tree we topped an 18mph average. Thanks Matt, Steve and Paul - one of those rid...

Seems I'm not alone being in Autumn denial. Hope to ride, probably fairly cautiously, as usual tomorrow evening. May cut short the usual route depending on how hairy it gets in the gloom.

Tomorrow evening I'll be riding out to Clent and not the usual route. If anyone fancies coming along I'll be heading out from Kings Heath via Kings Norton and Barnt Green then over Rose Hill toward Waseley then a couple of circuits around Clent including Sunday's hill climb. Back the usual route tow...

Hope to be riding as usual tomorrow. I'm hoping the pace will be a bit more sedate than last week particularly if the wind is anything like today. Almost blown off the bike a couple of times on the commute earlier.

I doubt we'll continue these rides in the same form during the winter although night time towpath rides have been mentioned as an alternative to the lanes. Tomorrow we'll depart Bike Pro at 6.15 as usual to squeeze the last out of the summer light. Pace hovering between 17-18 mph average. Everyone w...

The usual time and place for tomorrow's ride. Matt tells me he snipped a few miles off last week's loop because of fading light, so we'll play it by ear. It may be an idea to dig out some lights. :( :( :( The average has been creeping up but is unlikely to go above 18mph, everyone's welcome for a so...

For most of the summer a few of us have been riding on Wednesday evenings meeting outside Bike Pro on Kings Heath high street at 6.15pm. Depending on the mood we normally cover a 30-40 mile loop through the Warwickshire lanes at an average of 15-17 mph. You and anyone else for that matter are welcom...

Well I'll be mighty amazed. It was the bearings after all although not the ultra torque but the headset. Stripped, re-greased and I'm basking in the sound of silence. The amplification of carbon frames is sometimes bizarre. Richard, I owe you a pint. Thanks for all the suggestions, in particular Car...

Thanks Richard, I'll give it a go just to eliminate. The offending clicks seem to occur on the down stroke of the left-hand pedal when out of the saddle.
Hope to see you for the run on Sunday, I'll be able to demonstrate in person.

Cheers Ben, Carl kindly helped me swap the bearings but the problem persists. I've changed pedals, wheels, seatposts, tightened, greased and tinkered with all and sundry but still the clicking continues when pedaling out of the saddle. I'm just hoping it's not a problem with the bonding of the frame...

Thanks Carl. I'd pretty much concluded the bearings were shot after eliminating everything else I could think of, I've been in denial because of their seemingly short lifespan. I was planning to strip and re-grease but may as well replace while I'm at it. Waiting for delivery from Chain Reaction, £2...

Unspeakably annoying for sure. Pedals were first on my list, cleaned and greased but no joy. I've heard loose rear skewer and cassette lock-rings have been the culprit in the past with others having the same problem. I'll try those today but I've got a feeling the cranks will be removed completely b...

CAMPAG ULTRA TORQUE NOISE

Would really appreciate some help. During my last couple of rides the bike has developed a very annoying click which appears to come from the cranks only when riding out of the saddle. I'm using Campag's Ultra Torque system which has probably done less than 2000 dry miles so I would hope the bearing...

A, B, C and now perhaps an 'F' run I suppose we may as well go for the D and E runs and we've got it covered. I love my fixed wheel machine despite the frame being close to forty years old. The only problem being my glasses working their way down my nose on steep descents - excessive twiddling no doubt.
Is any one up for a gentle fixed/single speed only ride ?
