Firstly...don't ride it. It could just be a crack in the paint lacquer, but equally it could be in the carbon. Take it back to the shop where you bought it, it should still be covered under some form of warranty being only 18months old. The below seems to suggest a 3 yrs cover: http://www.cannondale...

Only myself and Helen Jamieson made it to cannock chase today for the offroad unofficial run. Not a great start as it was chucking it down and snowing at points and 1c to boot. Still we got going and warmed up pretty fast. Quite a short outing at 1hr15, but great fun...Lots of strange looks from the...

There is also an unofficial club run to cannock's chase this weekend for a bit of MTB/CX offroad. Meet up is 9am at the Birches Valley cafe: https://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-8JHHAH It's going to be an easy social run around the forest trails with a nice bacon buttie afterwards. You will nee...

Midsummer Night's Club Ride...Sat 1 July.
Date for the diary..Sat 1 July. I will be leading a special club run, the Midsummer Night's Dream. We will meet up and leave from Becketts farm shop at midnight then ride the 100km route to Tamworth Services for some scoff, then back home to meet the rest of the Beacon crew at the BH around 9am. We ...

Only had one PX bike frame and that was a Stealth TT. It was pretty basic and rode ok, however the frame was rather flexy under heavy load. This didn't bother me too much as how often do you really sprint on a TT? However for a hill climb bike with all the watts and torque going through the frame......

Not sure that's true....a proper 20mins FTP test is a thing of pure pain and suffering, and not something to be repeated without a strong constitution. Whilst not truly representative of what you can do for an hour it's a very good indication. The stats i've gained from an FTP match very closely to ...

Sounds like a great Idea, but alas one that I cannot partake in on the 24th/25th. I shall have just returned from the Alps and doubt any further venturing will be allowed by the 'boss'. I'm already booked in on the 20th Aug for a TT on a course that should serve up a PB, so that too is out. I'm sure...

How about we do the mid-summer overnight ride, that was great fun and something completely different from the norm, plus there's something really magical about riding at night in the warm with no cars about. I'd say either B or C will serve you well. We are now into winter, so our club runs tend to be around the 100k mark with a cafe stop mid-distance. I'd probably start off with a B and see if you can keep the pace, as it's always good to push your limits a bit...that's how you get stronger and fitter....

If you are not a league member you'll have to wait until close to the start of each race to see if there are day slots. League members get priority (as they paid for it). Remember to bring some money..it's £13 I think per race. Usual course limits are around 80 riders, but some can do more...depends...

It can happen for a number of reasons, the main one being the frame geometry. Every bike will do it, although most require you to actually push it into oscillation. I've found that clamping the top tube with the knee's if it starts helps, but also descending on the drops prevents it. If it does happ...

A tale of two missed rides. I set out to intercept the B run en route (at the crossroads at top of Weatheroak Hill) and missed! You boys must have got a move on or my watch is due for the scrapheap. I'll believe it when I see it. Birmingham council couldn't find their arse with both hands let alone organise an event on the scale of the Ronde Sportive with all the road closures etc... I expect them to announce a big plan, there to be huge protests from retailers and other groups, then the course...

I'd say the organization was on par with other such large event's I have ridden, although this would be by far the largest in terms of riders on the day. Overall it was quick to register and collect my number. Even getting Andy's stuff (he was running late) didn't present too much of an issue. I can...

Whilst an enjoyable day, it reminded me why I don't do sportive's anymore. Some of the standard of riding was shockingly bad and I'm surprised there were not more serious accidents. I saw people forcefully inserting themselves into a pace line (almost touching wheels), peddling on the top tube down ...

A fast "B" run today for two reasons..firstly the weather forecast after 2pm is for rain...and secondly the TdF finale broadcast starts at 2.30pm. Therefore it was very much outside of club guidelines, but everyone was happy with the pace (18mph avg) as it was a very flat and fast route. James Tate ...

Re: A Run
There is a site online for flagging potholes but can't remember the name of it, it's certainly worth bringing it to the attention of the authorities (if someone hasn't already done so) before it claims more victims. www.fillthathole.org.uk That's the one Andy. I wonder if it's this pothole http://w...

A run to Draycote was an eventful run to say the least. Route out was fine, fast and flowing, but the GPS mis-routed us down a farm track on the way out of the reservoir and we ended up going across a few fields CX style. C / B run to Snowdonia
It's been mentioned that other people, besides the Beacon hardcore nutter crew, might like to partake in a Snowdonia trip, so I'm happy to arrange and lead a moderate B/C paced ride out west. If people are interested, express interest below.....and I'll propose dates etc..
