My rear tyre is still inflated today too! Odd that is was deflating for 30-40 miles and then just seemed to stabilise for the next 150 odd. :P

Prestas also have a smaller diameter which reduces the weak spot on the rim of the wheel... The screw cap means you don't end up sticking sticks/tyre levers into the valve to reduce pressure (mtb only!) -- much more accurate The screw on the valve means the valve isn't ripped off if the tyre rotates...

I've been running XT chains on my MTB for years and it's usually the SRAM powerlinks that wear out and break for me. Been years since I snapped a chain properly.

I'll give it a go. Never done it before so might go horribly wrong. I've ridden the course in the past (my first TT!) so at least know where the start/finish is. ;)

A friend of mine did have a cratoni helmet for a number of years... then he dropped it on the floor. It was so brittle from exposure that the casing shattered.

My giro helmet isn't quite brittle yet, but then I tend to break mine every year or two anyway! That's using your head!

Missed this thread! I got my new Spesh Roubaix last week and took for a whizz on Sunday. It's quite nice! Replaced the stock wheels as they weighed a ton. Don't think it's a rubbish bike despite what that shop said. :P

Harry, your profile says you live in Harbourne. There's a bike shop at the end of the high street there (just past the garage). You can probably ride/push it there in 5 minutes. I've been in there once and the chap was quite helpful/decent. :)

Bit hard to diagnose that one beyond the obvious loose QR or dodgy bearings!

If you're not totally sure it's safe to ride or don't feel confident with having a go at the brake calipers just whip the bike into your LBS and ask them if they can see the issue.

Probably about £15 per brake or so.

Before you go shelling out dosh on them have you tried pushing the pistons back and resetting the brakes? Unless they're actually leaking fluid/spongey then it's probably not a bleed that you need.

Harry, 90% of people unclip by twisting their heel outwards. I'm one of the goofy types who unclips with the heel going inwards. I used a set of those for doing LEJOG on my MTB... I ended up losing the use of my right thumb and two smaller fingers for about 6 months. Didn't help me at all. :P Numb fingers in MTBing can just be down to weak tendons. I get it if I have a few months off and then hit some particularly tough trails.
