Re: Rays Farm

Acton Scott Farm Museum and it's cafe have also shut. Whilst too far away for club runs, it was the first stopping point on the Kidder Killer Audax. The museum was once subject to the TV series, The Victorian Farm. Mounting losses are cited to it's operators, Shropshire Council. The decision has bee...

Re: What's the riding like around the Severn Valley?

Hello Roger. It is good to hear from you. I live to the east of Kidderminster near Chaddesley Corbett. East of the Severn provides great opportunities for gentler rides but have always taken the view that 'west is best' for quieter roads albeit very hill routes. You are correct on the limited nature...

Mick, that the best choice of route. The section where you have to be really careful is the descent of Quantry Lane just beyond the Recycling Site. The bends on that descent are prone to icing even with gritting.

One way to curtail riders 'off the front' is not to provide a GPS route in advance.

My tactic as a group leader was to make unplanned turns at junctions causing those off the front to rejoin at the back. It generally worked and stopped such shenanigans.
