Re: C run Sunday 14 May [now a definite plan]
FYI everybody: the campsite where we're having our coffee stop does take contactless payments, but prefers cash. They take contactless without any problems, went there today and spent £4.50 on the card so all ok Ah, right, thanks for the update. I've paid contactless there as well, but when I tried...

Re: C run Sunday 14 May [now a definite plan]
Okay, here's the definite plan. Weather forecast is now looking more positive than a couple of days ago (mild and dry until late afternoon), meaning that Aston Cantlow is more attractive than when I first had this idea. So, here's the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42852023 It's slightly shor...

Re: Proposed C run Sunday 14 May
Hi I'm interested. Is there a route and pace will be approx? Ian, I wanted to see whether the idea was a runner before working out a route, but we've got a handful of interested people already, so there's every reason to think we'll get up to six or eight, which is enough to make it worthwhile. So ...

Re: Proposed C run Sunday 14 May
I visited on a Sunday last August George. The bacon butty was good and they'd added a coffee pod machine so better than instant. Thanks, Steve. A bit basic, though? I had an idea they had become a bit more professional (at least in the summer months). Do you think? Other options down that way would...

C run Sunday 14 May [now a definite plan]
I see that there is so far no C run scheduled for this coming Sunday. Unfortunately, I need to be home by 2pm or thereabouts, so I can't lead a full run. However, what I could do if there is any interest is pick a café, do a route, reserve a table, then lead the run outward and a small part of the w...

Thanks, Celia. I definitely won't be on the ride (if I tried to be, I'd be off it again five minutes later!), but I *might* turn up at the café. I'm currently mulling over my options; Stuart's café choice also works out well for me, so I might meet his group. Enjoy the ride, regardless, and thanks f...

I'm off on a mini tour in a couple of weeks. As you say, Paul, these trips can get quite pricey, unless you follow Si Woodward's example and go wild camping. In the last few years, even quite modest overnight accommodation has become expensive. Not many places have single rooms, not many offer singl...

Help!
We're hoping to compile a video of this year's 75th anniversary LMTT. Some semi-professional gear will be in use at the top of Ankerdine. However, endless clips of people gasping over the top of the hill will get pretty boring, and will fail to tell the whole story of the event. I'd therefore like t...

Well, with 48 hours to go, the weather forecast for Sunday is looking relatively positive: breezy, but mild and dry until late afternoon. As Ced says, it's hard to imagine right now, but that's apparently the way it'll be. The roads are bound to be wet and, yes, filthy, after all the precipitation, ...

I don't have any rollers, but I have a spare folding turbo trainer, which you can turn the resistance right down on, so that you can then do a low-resistance warm up similar to what you would get on rollers.
