In some ways, cheating with a motor in a bike seems even more contemptible than taking drugs. In some ways yes but safer at least. People are taking unbelievable risks with their health when doping. I don't know about that cobmi Alan (sounds a bit like a simple valve extender) but I know you can get a screw on brass adaptor for attaching a pump head with a lock on Schraeder fitting to a threaded presta valve if that helps. I don't know about the mavic carbon 50mm wheels but I use 60mm conti supersonic tubes with my Shimano 50mm wheels, there's about 12mm of the threaded part of presta valve sticking out beyond rim - I use threaded connector on Lezyne track pump which works no problem.
