Well, seen as the A run has decided to copy the C run in going to Tewkesbury ..... The C run route will be similar, but don't rely on it in your garmin as I may divert...! Distance approx 125km. It is only intended for there to be one stop, so you may want to bring food with you. Cafe will de...

I'm organising a C run pace ride to Tewkesbury on 12 June, 8:15 start. Route tbc, but I think it's around 80 miles. Even though it's longer than a normal C run, the current intention is for only 1 stop and to go to the garden centre, but there's time enough for that to change! It can either be the C...

No C run leader came forward in advance, so Andy Wrightson stepped up on the day. Not bad considering he managed 100miles yesterday! He's asked me to put the list of names on here as he still can't write on the message board for some strange reason! Anyway, it was a lumpy 52 miles to lavender hall f...

we peeled back the rubber hood of the shifter, and found a frayed cable mangled into the 105 shifter. I had exactly the same issue a few weeks ago. Was a bit of a nightmare getting all the bits out of the shifter and by the time I'd finished I'd managed to pull the cable through the frame.... Spent...

To help me set an appropriate pace on next Sunday's C run, I've been looking on Strava at the speeds that recent C runs have averaged. I see that it's usually been about 12 to 12.5mph in the last few weeks. Is that about right for the regular group on an average route in winter? Or have the last co...

Bike storage....
I need to sort out how I store my bikes so I can actually use my dining room! It looks like I have two options. Either put two brackets in the wall which go under the top tube of the bike, or hang the bikes from the front wheel. Does anyone have any experience/thoughts on these 2 options? (The rest ...

Re: Thinking about giving in and getting a winter bike......
Any modern rim brake correctly set up is more than capable of locking up your wheels, something you don't want on a road bike. You will loose traction from your tyres long before your brakes have a problem. Disc brakes are not a panacea for braking and can be hazardous when used on the road particul...

Thinking about giving in and getting a winter bike......
I'm debating getting a winter/bad weather bike. My main justification is that I've realised rim brakes scare me witless in conditions like we've been having recently! I'm also going to start commuting on the bike again soon, so want to use it for that, as well as winter club runs. So, my main criter...

Helen (A38 QoM) Jamieson Ha ha! Thanks John. Thanks for leading again. I know it was tough in that wind. Re: Intro ride 6th sep
Hi all I was down to lead the intro ride this Sunday to the stables tea room, earlswood. I've been in some pain and discomfort in my southern region since Thursday. It was easing up Friday but the pain has come back again, so I will have to back down as leader This is the route I was taking https:/...
