I haven't used them in a race yet Tim, they seem secure enough & would be simple enough to use with a normal cycling shirt - not sure about a skinsuit though.

I've now looked at the web site & ordered a set of unbranded ones, look like saviour for expensive kit. If these really are that good & don't damge clothing at all maybe we could help fulfill minimum order by buying extra & sell them on when people sign on at Little Mountain Time Trial & club 10 Tim...

According to Park Tools http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/bottom-bracket-tool-selection the Ultegra 6800 bottom bracket is 40mm external diameter, previous hollowtech 2 bottom brackets (in common with GXP & Campag cups I have come across) were 44mm so the old tool will not work, thanks Shiman...

Well done Richard, 6 seconds behind Matt Clinton is some going - since winning british national hill climb title in 2008 he has finished on the podium every year plus he's coming from a great time trialling season. I signed on for one TT last season about 5 minutes after first rider went, luckily big enough field to get bike ready, pin number on,put shoes & helmet on & make it to start just in time. No need for a warm up when you cut it that fine Andy.

There's a layby outside cemetary on Middle Lane beside Becketts Farm. I don't know if there are parking restrictions but doubt it would be a problem overnight.

I rode the course this evening & the traffic lights had gone. If the time trial was this evening we could have held it no problem but as Elfyn said there are signs up warning of road closure for resurfacing for 4 days from tomorrow on section through Stock Green for about a mile before 1st left turn...

Temporary traffic lights on the course when I was over that way earlier in the week (on the Saltway before left turn to Goosehill Lane). I'll try & get over that way again closer to the time of the event to check if they've gone.

Well thats torn it, favourite excuse for poor performance on hill climb was "rubbish road surface" - what am I supposed to blame now?

Club time trials cost £3 Stuart, sign on between 6.30 and 7 at the start which is at junction of Tithe Barn Lane & Umberslade Rd (near Earlswood, we cycle along part of the course on Wednesday evening rides).
Can someone correct the title of this thread, it's 14th May not June as indicated? (Done)

I think Tim also rode last year & beat that time Simon. I think Laurence had biggest improvement on PB for Beacon members who rode & should get max handicap points.

I came through Crowle this evening & the road was completely clear of roadworks, cars were coming through both ways, no diversion or road closure signs & all the fencing was gone. Probably worth checking again next week.

Iwent for garmin 800 & I've not regretted it but I haven't used any of the other devices you're considering. Like others have said it does depend what you want the device for. As a training tool it works wirelessly with ANT+ devices such as Heart Rate Monitors (mine was included in package I bought)...

Thats not 3 minutes in outright time but rather handicapped time, eg.if you have a handicap on this course of 1min30secs and actually clocked a time of 4 minutes exactly you would get a handicapped time of 2mins30secs if your time wasn't restricted to 3 minutes. Rotten luck Clive. I think there's a CCTV camera on this junction which could have caught the collision. If so it might be worth trying to secure footage or get police to do so. Even if you have witnesses & a co-operative driver it might help secure a prosecution.
