I honestly don't know why you would opt not to ride without mudguards this time of year Show some respect for the group members around you and also the café owners as Pete said.
Not withstanding the fact, but why cover your bike in crap just for the sake of it?

Its unfortunate that the group got split up in the latter stages, and despite repeated requests to knock the pace back a touch to let others get back on, my requests seemed to go pretty much ignored.

Re: How do you find the time?!?
Rest assured your kids will always need you, even when they have left home they still have a habit of returning! I guess its all about finding the balance and one that needs careful consideration to all parties concerned. Now I tend to think better when I'm out on my bike, so therefore I spend a lot...

Put me down to do a B run to the Wayside Farm Shop in Wickhampton, 72 miles BH to BH so a little longer than normal? But the pace will be slightly lower to allow for that and also to attract others to join. The café is at bang on the mid point of the ride to :D Rough route will be something like thi...

The rear mounted light/camera is certainly worth considering. Its identical to the Fly6 in every way, and nearly £90 cheaper!!

I've been advised to steer away from shimano coz you can't maintain them? Was looking at mavics? Really....? Quite the opposite in my opinion, Shimano have loose ball bearing that you can grease and service plus spares are available near enough anywhere. You can also replace the cones if they get p...

From my own experience but a laptop in a pannier isn't good unless you can equal the weight on the other side. Then you are talking some serious weight lugging around every single day. Of course it depends on the size and weight of the laptop and my company one was a heavy old brute and built to wit...

Great event and thanks to everyone for making it happen.
I enjoyed my bottle of Shropshire Gold beer thanks. But in hindsight I should have drunk it when I got home really and not at the HQ then ride home!

Due to some rather pi55 poor planning on my part, but I have also entered a Mark Rigby 215km audax the day before as I thought this ride was next weekend.... So the burning question is, do you think that MrsW would tolerate me doing both?

I was also thinking of doing a similar night run but a different destination, namely Gaydon Services on the M40. Along these lines, but starting from Becketts Island - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/10...

Sunday's sobering B Run to Alcester will be approx 60 miles in length heading out via Tardebigge and returning via Stoke Prior and Chaddesley Corbett. This is route that I did back in the summer, albeit it one way HERE A little bit further and certainly a lot quieter than the A38, but certainly a lot more climbing as well. And in truth I don't think that I would relish the thought of turning round at Weston and then heading back on the same route!...

That's really interesting George and certainly worth a look.
