The start is right opposite the '50' sign so I guess that lay-by is the place to park.

Sounds like a Garmin software problem. You could try this alternative method. Bike Route Toaster > Summary page - Download To File - gpx (course.gpx) Dowload and install EasyGPS (free) software from http://www.easygps.com plug your GPS into your PC In EasyGPS: File > Open > course.gpx GPS > Send to ...

I bought the Mark Cavendish autobiography on Kindle last week. It's incredible dull, written in a distinctly dreary monotone voice. But I suppose that's how he speaks, right? And within pages the term "light year" was used as a measure of time. I can forgive MC for that, but someone down the chain ...

Re: SPD advice??
I have been told to expect to fall off a few times, as I may not release the shoes from the pedals in time when I stop. Usually it's just the once, and results in damaged pride but nothing else. We've all done it and we all enjoy a quiet snigger when it happens to someone else. To adjust the SPD te...

I wouldn't make the claim that it was a great read - but something that requires readers nonetheless is... - the blog i've started http://meandthemountain.wordpress.com/ which is, in a roundabout way, Beacon related. I hope you can forgive my comment about the "90's" kit... I like the bit about wak...

OK. Here's one. Wheel manufacturers should quote the (polar) moment of inertia of a wheel as well as its overall weight.Tim wrote:Any thoughts welcome.Tim

Don't make my mistake and try and use a 10-speed SRAM powerlink with a 10-speed Shimano chain. The link goes on OK and works fine but you can't remove it (without a chain tool) to split the chain for cleaning. Have since read they are not supposed to be re-usable. Just ordered a KMC X10 and some qui...

Never mind, Pat. The good intention was there. Quite frankly, I am disappointed. With Beaconites crawling all over the mountains of Europe, I would have expected at least one photo on here by now. Could it be that the 'normal size' pre-2011 bidon is now so valuable everyone is keeping them at home t...

George and I both successfully completed the 106km course today. My official time was 7:04, not sure about George - at least 30min quicker I think. The event was every bit as good as people say: getting on for 10,000 cyclists enjoying themselves on closed roads in great scenery under blue skies with...

Re: Maratona dles Dolomites
I wouldn't worry about that, George. Mostly cloudy today, with a few spots of rain. And I am told we will freeze waiting for the 6.30 start on Sunday.George wrote:or cope with the heat
