I'm happy to lead a B ride to Clows Top if no one else fancies leading. The route is one that Matt Clegg did this year and is 55 miles, with the Cafe at 31.

Re: Club runs - 2nd September
The B ride got to Lavender Hall without a problem but there was a 3/4 hour wait for food so we were told of a great cafe a couple of miles away. Unfortunately they were also full so we ended up 1 **flat** later with a Spa shop on the village green at Meridan. Todays riders were Nathan Burton Huang D...

Re: Club runs - 2nd September
The B ride to Lavendar Hall will be about 55 miles with the cafe just over halfway at 32 miles. The pace won't be quick and the route is fairly flat so if there are any C riders who fancy moving up to the B this is the perfect opportunity. The route is available here - https://ridewithgps.com/routes...

Re: Garmin advice
Thanks for your advice everyone. Hopefully most nights he will be able to find somewhere to charge and for those few nights when we'll be wild camping a powerbank should be fine. I was surprised to find that some Garmins don't have mapping and those that do you have to purchase the maps. Is that rea...

Garmin advice
Hi everyone,
I'm doing a JOGLE with a friend in June and am after some advice on Garmins for him. I use my android with a Dyno hub so don't know much about Garmin. He doesn't have a dynamo so needs one with good battery life.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Re: Club runs - May 6th
Will, There's a Club Runs Route Database in the Club Runs section, though there's not necessarily a standard route to the cafe. The route I took us to Wyre Forest was new though the route back was fairly standard. I did say it wasn't flat! Many people do as I did and post their planned route on the ...

Re: Club runs - May 6th
A wonderful day for a gentle ride through the rolling Worcestershire hills. Si Walker pointed out Long Mynd to me at one stage. I think he was trying to suggest we head out over there next time. I hope everyone enjoyed the ride. The riders today were Neil Evanson Phil Gameson Matt Hale Colin Hall (P...

Re: Club runs - May 6th
I'll lead a C ride to Wyre Forest.
I had planned to do this earlier in the year but the snow defeated me. The forecast looks much better this time.
The route is here https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26664870.
It's 55 Miles, not flat, but the pace will be nice and steady.

If the weather is poor, the B run may end up doing this shorter and less scenic route to Wyre Forest

I've volunteered. I've never ridden a tandem however but will be giving it a go and see how I get on at the end of this month. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Club runs - 21st January
The B run will be a 55 mile route to Wyre Forest with the Cafe at 30 miles. The route is a bit lumpy so the pace will be at the low end of B pace at around 14mph. It should be a perfect opportunity for any of the stronger C riders who wish to come along.

Re: Club runs - 3rd December
I'll be leading a nice leisurely C run to Lavender Hall following this route - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26516740 It's 51 miles and a nice flat route with the cafe at about 28 miles. Coincidentally, on the way back we'll go past Packwood House which is part of the British Cycle Quest - https://...

Re: Panniers?!
I commuted for many years with a laptop and uniform in my panniers. I use a padded laptop case to protect the panniers (hard edges inside panniers can cause problems). My track is a Tubus alloy rack. I made my own panniers using Ortlieb accessories. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2...

Hi Simon, let's give it a go and label your ride as this week's B-ride. If no one turns up, you can ride at your own pace as you say above, but Beaconites, if you're considering a longer ride, then join Simon for a more leisurely 100miler than Paul's relentless pace. Simon is an experienced rider w...
