Might have a go at this on the mtb this year.
Any idea which level of licence I need to purchase?

Barry has one of these... http://www.evanscycles.com/products/gore-bike-wear/fusion-20-gt-as-jacket-ec040391#features Looks like you could scrunch it up into a pocket and I recall him telling me it was very waterproof (as long as it's proofed I guess!) and so breathable he was cold (but dry). Depend...

Hmm, so last night I had fish & chips... chips/batter = carbs, fish = protein so all good. Tonight was kievs and chips... so more carbs and protein... all good, right??? Not sure about campag (brr roadie stuff) but my new Whyte frame uses a BB30 setup which does have a narrower bottom bracket width which my normal Shimano XT setup wouldn't fit with. It would end up a) the opposite of yours and b) the left pedal would stick out a mile! I have an adapter built into my...

Nothing easy really, and it's bit of a trek once you get to Clee, no real direct way of getting there aside from A/B roads until you get closer to it. Though once you're in the Marshbrook area there's some good stuff up there. If you want some good singletrack action head to Eastridge, it's got a re...

Dyfi 2013
Forgot to post my report! So 6th year running entering the Dyfi Enduro, 60km and 7000ft climbing, with some wotsit scary descents. All good fun. 3 crashes and a broken front mech from the first crash on the first descent 15kms in meant tough going while stuck in the middle ring for the 20-25% techy ...

Prestas also have a smaller diameter which reduces the weak spot on the rim of the wheel... The screw cap means you don't end up sticking sticks/tyre levers into the valve to reduce pressure (mtb only!) -- much more accurate The screw on the valve means the valve isn't ripped off if the tyre rotates...

Hi guys, Nice day for it, with a favourable tailwind up the main drag. Got some splits at a point I chose but on this course it's not accurate. Thanks for the tips. I shall practice push offs perhaps on some lucky bugger tomorrow! I'll have my partner along to help out. No point with lap splits on this course? As I recall it goes under the start bridge so a bit inaccurate to do proper splits anyway. Is Matt doing it?!? If so I hope it's sno...

I watch most of my cycling via torrents from this site. It's mostly from Eurosport but also from some american channels. Remember to Seed! I did try Eurosport player for £4 a month but the quality was crap, the service crapper and the quantity of programs on there was... well, worse. I ended up send...

Midlands XC -- Cannock
Well... I entered, and started, and true to form hit a tree (actually I bounced off quite a few but that last one was harder than the rest!) and broke my bike on lap 1. Long walk back too... oh well! Conditions were.... ranging from muddy to really muddy, with bog pits to bog pits with extra mud. I ...

Yah discs are pretty heavy compared to rubbish roady brakes (god I hate them!)... down to heavier calipers/ levels, braided hoses, the hydraulic fluid, etc. The standard rotors are usually just laser cut steel but you can buy lighter 'floating' rotors at great expense. Don't think the wheels are rea...

Mountain Mayhem (MTB 24hrs)
Last year we entered a couple teams into a 24hr mtb event for a laugh. I didn't join in but did the Mountain Mayhem a month before which was an absolute claggy clay bogfest of boggy bogness. Of course I'd like to enter again, and think you would too! http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/2013-wi...

Harry, 90% of people unclip by twisting their heel outwards. I'm one of the goofy types who unclips with the heel going inwards. It scuffs your shoes (on the tyre) but is much each to clip out and saves my dodgy knee. That's with MTB clips, dunno if you can with roadies, guessing you can. Give it a ...

I used a set of those for doing LEJOG on my MTB... I ended up losing the use of my right thumb and two smaller fingers for about 6 months. Didn't help me at all. :P Numb fingers in MTBing can just be down to weak tendons. I get it if I have a few months off and then hit some particularly tough trails.
