As far as I'm aware the plastic bolt should only be finger tight. Make sure you've completely removed the two crank bolts and the safety washer before attempting removal of the plastic part. If you still can't remove it once you've done that perhaps try a sharp flat edge screw driver or small chisel...

Ok here is the tip. If you are struggling to get the missing link to click into place make sure it is in the section of chain between the top of the cassette sprockets and the top of the chain rings apply the rear brake and stand on the pedal. If the missing link is located along the bottom of the c...

Rollers help develop an even pedalling motion especially with a high cadence. I had a meeting with a guy from Selle Italia earlier in the week to learn about their new saddle fitting system. The process involves lots of body measurements including the thigh diameter. My right thigh was much bigger t...

I rode the 2013 Kiddie route as far as Clun during Easter. Apart from the evil headwind I didn't notice any major problems other than the usual loose, mud and pot holes. It's a tough old ride. As I turned off at Clun toward Knighton I met with a relentless rise which almost finished me off completel...

As I mentioned earlier in the thread it should be possible to nominate one team member's start time and re-arrange the others to match hence the importance of stating the same estimated completion time. We had the same issue last year with wildly varying start times but Mike sorted it out via email ...

I also had a simular problem with a Ritchey carbon seatpost which developed a 30mm split hidden inside the frame. This is something I happened to notice the day before last summer's 219 mile ride to Weston.... To cut to the point I decided to stop messing around and fit a Thomson Elite alloy post wh...

Just a word of warning. Last year, although we were entered as a Beacon team the organisers initially gave us all a different start time. They may by now have ironed out this glitch but it helps if all team riders enter the same estimated completion time. Basically the fastest riders start earlier. ...

Our friend might think twice about engaging with a bunch of cyclists crazy enough to be out riding in the cold, wet, dark depths of winter even if they might be wearing tigh...

Alan, you describe my experience exactly. I went for the 52cm Dolan as the top tube was close to my needs. However, after cutting the forks, noticed the super small head tube. After selling the original forks and buying a new set I've also ended up with a big stack of spacers. It's rideable and real...

The Dolan frame is almost identical to Ribble's winter model. Both share a long top tube and very short head tube. Have a look at SKS Race Blade Longs. Full mudguards that attach to the wheel skewers so no need for frame and fork eyelets. Well that was quite an experience, like a parallel universe where EVERYONE is a cyclist. For various reasons we were given one of the last start times which meant carving a path through 20,000 riders as we attempted to put in a decent time. Around the halfway point Lee began to really badly cramp up...
