As far as I'm aware the plastic bolt should only be finger tight. Make sure you've completely removed the two crank bolts and the safety washer before attempting removal of the plastic part. If you still can't remove it once you've done that perhaps try a sharp flat edge screw driver or small chisel...

The less racy B17 Cambium is £105 but not sure about the B15 as yet. I expect it would look good on most bikes but not sure about the weight as comfort and durability are the name of the game with a Brooks rather than lightness.

The Brooks rep showed me a prototype of the Cambium a few months back. It's typically beautifully made as well as good on the eye.
I expect they'll have trouble meeting demand.

There's a nice run out to Tenbury Wells which is a change. It's 80 plus miles so longer than normal so perhaps good for the summer. Unfortunately, there's a significant hill involved....

As I mentioned earlier in the thread it should be possible to nominate one team member's start time and re-arrange the others to match hence the importance of stating the same estimated completion time. We had the same issue last year with wildly varying start times but Mike sorted it out via email ...

Just a word of warning. Last year, although we were entered as a Beacon team the organisers initially gave us all a different start time. They may by now have ironed out this glitch but it helps if all team riders enter the same estimated completion time. Basically the fastest riders start earlier. ...

Tim you made the right choice last night believe me. Matt, myself and Ben cut the ride short and only covered a 20mile loop. It was wet to say the least but as I couldn't see where I was going I could see it all going wrong.

I've had second thoughts. Although it's a good, well organised event with a nice route I just can't reconcile the £17.50 entry fee with a bike ride on fairly local roads.
