Mavic Aksium (rear) wheel -cracks

Checking out my road bike today i noticed some cracks on the rear rim around a number of eyelets. Have replaced the wheel but just wondered what might have caused it. I'm thinking it's either just wear, hitting a pot hole ! or most likely...:( over tightening the spokes....

A 4am start doesn't much appeal to me. It implies getting up at 2am, which effectively means no sleep the night before the event. Cycling through Tanworth the other week i went past Umberslade Farm Park and noticed they have a cafe. Here is a link to their website. Looks like it might be ok for a shorter run. Menu looks good.

My road bike is also the Trek 1000 that Phil F had and it's still going strong. For the money it has been a great bike. I didn't have Bontrager wheels with mine though, i upgraded to Mavic Aksiums and they have been great too.

How do you know George? All the people you name have been caught doping. Several of them (and others) have said publicly that they believe that all their main rivals were doing drugs too. Look i'm no expert on drugs but if you or Ed are telling me that they can turn an average rider into a tour win...

To come back from cancer and win seven tours takes some doing and i don't believe for one minute that if he hadn't done the training and been a great athlete would he have been able to do it whether he was on drugs or not.
