I'm having similar fun issues with my commuter mtb! Have a creaking noise only when pedalling. Have changed... Crank Bottom bracket Pedals (one at a time) Chain Cassette Rear wheel (blew the rim couple weeks ago!) Rear brake caliper (madness set in) Still the blipping things persist to creak. I've b...

Not really club racing but thought I'd share anyway.
I entered a team relay triathlon in Sutton Park today... and won!

Hmm, I've not had a **flat** on my MTB in aaaaages. Happy days eh! You can get slime rim tape kinda stuff can't you? Goes inside the tyre between that and the tube? Was at Llandegla today. Lush new trails and real quick surface. I'm on Schwalbe Nobby Nics with Maxxis ultralite tubes. They weigh very...

Hahahahaha 300km on a bike, it'll never happen... You'll ladder your tights, get 1 more **flat** than you have innertubes, your chainstay will snap, your cassette will fall off... perhaps your gears will go mad... and you'll leave your credit card behind in the first cafe. I'd come... but I don't th...

No reason to stick with it no. From a MTB point of view GPX and HTII were more or less the same when I went through them. If you're replacing the whole lot then there's no reason at all to not change the lot. I binned Truvativ Style/ISIS style cranks due to them using bearings which were too bloody ...

Epic Cycles Spring Challenge (Ludlow)
Hi all, Just had a mate point this out. It's a hilly 57 miler over starting at Ludlow on the 11th of March. Entry is £10. I was half thinking of cycling the 35-40 miles to the event, riding it, then riding back... anyone up for it? 200 entries only and 76 were gone when I last checked. http://www.ep...

I've always found most shifting problems are down to the outer hoses. Imo there's bugger all point changing the cables without doing the hoses too unless it's just frayed dry cables. They get clogged up with crap lube, mud, bits of cable, etc. Sometimes the end caps get worn down and distort, the ho...

I'd be interested in this. Are you looking for riders from a certain ability and background style of riding? TT riders, long distance audax riders, roadies, mountain bikers, etc? If so what would be a qualifying level of fitness? I play club level badminton too, would that impact/hinder the process?...

By curious colour he obviously means the fantastic tan I had developed over the day. The physios can again refer to me as The Tan! Was a pretty tough ride and while I enjoyed the really steep bits at the start they weren't quite as much fun at the end. The climb out of Church Stretton was my fave. W...

I'd be up for that ride. Prefer as a group. Looking at the route there's something a little odd at point 42-44. Is it a cafe stop?? Having just done a MTB event in Church Stretton I can vouch for some of the cheeky hills over that way! I was even in Clee Hill and Ludlow a couple weeks ago too. Ridin...

Ooer a timely wheel discussion. I'm using CPX22s... about £70 for both of my wheels (stock on the bike) and while they're ok when on the roll and winter they're a bit crap at everything else. I'm thinking of spending about £250 on a set and seeing how it goes. Merlin are doing a sale on Krysium Equi...

I used bikehike for our 12 day (+2 in Orkneys!) route. Worked real well with the 705. Though I now use ridewithgps.com which is proving to be more reliable. The GPS will use about 3/4 of its juice per day, hope you can keep it topped up! We went full camping and took solar chargers attached to the b...
