My 24/8 post is one argument; the fact that doping is making the headlines rather than sporting action is another. Though elaboration on Wiggo's part would have helped.

Well done all - especially Carl. Couldn't make this one as I did a ride at the Wolverhampton marathon, sharing the road with the likes of Hugh Porter and Steve Bull!
On another note, I'm not sure which I prefer - the tough slog up Cobley Hill or negotiating the humpback bridges heading down it :?

Oh dear. :(

Anyway it'll be interesting to see what evidence USADA present to UCI and whether the ban gets upheld; it's certainly not the end of this story.

When I'm pedalling I only understand speeds (mph), which seems to make for a tricky conversion: Let's say I'm in a low gear for a hill such as 32/24, and am pedalling at 80 rpm. My tyres are 29" diameter which is about 736mm or 0.736m. With each pedal stroke I am travelling 0.736 x pi x 32/24 = 3.0...

On a side note, as of today, I've won more races than Lance :D I haven't - yet  I think the whole thing's pretty unsatisfactory all round. If Lance Armstrong was clean (which, on the balance of probability, I don't think he was), an innocent man has been wrongly stripped of his titles, and of...

Despite wandering dangerously around the road, it was still alive when I passed hours later. I didn't have time to stop nor the energy to bunny hop so I had to swerve around it. I saw two of them - there may have been more! As well as an early **flat** (which put me dead last, not that that really ...

Cheers, Phil, Lisa and everyone else for a well organised Audax - my first! Would have been a bit better if not for a **flat** and bike computer problems early on, but still enjoyed it and might even be daft enough to do it next year.

Well that wind was nice up the A435 but not so much up Ravens Bank Drive or Coventry Highway, where I suffered. At least it was dry though. Not a bad time for me, especially as I was still a bit tired after the 100 in 8, and I think I beat Brian - just? Shame the turnout was quite small but I guess ...

Re: Results Club TT 8th August K34/6Gx2

In fact had I not been timing I might have been tempted.......... to go down to the Hollybush for a pint of Brakspear in the garden. Why would you want to spend £3 on a pint relaxing in a beer garden on a beautiful evening when you can spend it putting yourself through 35-ish minutes of sheer pain?...

Saw a link to this on Facebook: http://www.fourshires.com/index.html

Anyone interested? I'd be interested in going but would need a lift there, if anyone's kind enough to offer :)

Brewood Cycle Challenge

http://www.brewoodcyclechallenge.com/2012event.html As close as I've got to an Audax/Sportive so far. Easy route - only one real hill and that was after only 24 miles. Decided to speed up near the end but ended up following a couple of riders who knew the route as well (badly) as me - and went 5 mil...

Re: handicap points

Do we have a simple formula for working out handicap points, perhaps i am being stupid but it does not make much sense to me. Matt Regan had the biggest improvement last night 46 seconds but was only awarded 33 points. Pat McCabe improved by 22 seconds and was awarded 40 points. Nic Vipond improved...

K35/6G x2

Hi all

I'm going to have a go at this TT tomorrow; this'll be my first one (other than the hill climb). I wanted to know, though, whether at the end of the first lap we just carry on up the A435 rather than taking the Ullenhall turn-off?

Thanks,
Richard
