I had the pleasure of having Gary Mac as my minute man in a Lake District 25 this morning (After he did a PB 10 the previous evening).Talk got round to 24s and he expressed his possible intent to ride one next year. That set me thinking, does anyone in the club know of any 24s completed by Beacon mem...

Play with the watch(es) before the event to make sure you know how not to inadvertently stop the watch rather than the lap timer.Take more than one writing implement with you.Try to get a recorder to record the numbers of ...

I've done both hills both ways on 42x28 when I was only middle aged. However on one occasion whilst riding to work at Sellafield with loaded panniers I fell off up the west side of Wrynose as it was difficult to steer and balance when the front wheel lifts off the road despite using a 125mm stem.It's...

I have used 175 for the daylight parts of a 24hr TT and 170 at night and only noticed the difference for a minute or so after the bike change. For hill climbs I found that 175 caused more wheelspin than 170.My son who is 6' 5 1/2" uses 180 for TTs and Triathlons,175 generally and 170 on the tandem.He...
