I've reported one or two that seemed to be due to faulty GPS tracks rather than fraudulent egos, not that they were depriving me of anything just my contribution to the "community", Stuart White was the true KOM. They both disappeared immediately and didn't return but I've just checked and there's a...

University Station to Canal Tow Path Steps (re-opened)
Canal and River Trust will shortly be starting works to replace the existing steep steps between University Station and the towpath of the Worcester Birmingham Canal. These works are part of the wider Birmingham Cycle Revolution project. The replacement will be a wider, shallower pitch set of steps ...

Given the target audience tend to prefer to be out racing than posting about what they're doing I'm not sure offering yet another medium is the answer. Given FB maybe is possibly easier for most I was wondering whether it's events feature could be used, either associated with the Beacon FB group or ...

CUK/CTC subs can now be paid under gift aid and this applies retrospectively back to 2012. So, not only will signing up provide more income to CUK but higher rate tax payers can reduce their next tax bill by a few quid including a brucey-bonus for the last few years :) It takes a few seconds to sign...

Hope the finger & bruises mends soon Niall and that there's no significant damage to the bike. After making my way home it occurred to me that as the one person there who wasn't shaken up I should have thought to get you to check that all accessories were still attached to your bike after what must ...

so, we move on.... Dave, I know this is to the cyclists' memorial service, so people may want to know the timings, to gauge whether they can make it, join the B (Paul...be aware of this), attend the service, break off on arrival, or have an extended café stop etc. The service starts at 11:00 and la...

If people are dissatisfied by current club runs then I have a suggestion. Stop complaining and start volunteering to lead runs instead of leaving it to the minority of usual individuals. Good point, well made! However, I think the concern is not dissatisfaction of those turning up casually expectin...

Looks like the Enigmas have straight stays so maybe not as soft a rear end as I'm used to. As Gary points out frame builders can vary stiffness to some extent with any material but with a stock frame you don't get to specify what you want so it's useful to be pre-warned to you have it in mind on a t...

Ah, I was worried about the reference to colour. As Gary points out the brushed effect is easy to maintain, if you get a scratch or any rubbing causes a shiny spot. Maybe a Scotchbrite pad rather than Brillo though. You just need to avoid etched (or whatever) graphics. Expect a soft ride, plenty of ...

I entered many years ago but DNS'd due to snow the night before the event. It was in the day's when everybody used paper route sheets so no GPX I'm afraid. It looked like a no-frills event with a fairly basic route sheet, choose your own control in Malvern (a few options were suggested) and finish i...

Apart from canal towpaths and NCN off-road routes I've struggled to put any decent routes together. Public bridleways have varied from rideable off-road trails and beds of streams to muddy quagmires and heavy undergrowth in a fairly short distance. I've found a few decent sections but they're just s...
