C run They original plan to go to the Rendovelo café in Leamington for the Tour de Lombardy was kiboshed by the cancellation of the café :( So to enjoy what may be the last day of decent weather we shall go on a mystery tour of Clent, Kinver and Lickey. Expect the odd hill. Brunch at the Kinver Edge...

I'm afraid that I don't understand what the proposal is. To replace our club run guidelines? To incorporate some of the SmartCyclist advice into our club run guidelines? (If so, which bits?) To add illustrations to our guidelines? It's worth saying that the original post relates to a discussion at ...

I can't see anything wrong with the present guidelines as far as social rides are concerned. Training rides are a different matter. I can't see how the club can issue one set of guidance that covers all possibilities of what may been done during a training ride. The guidance pdf is far too prescript...

Special mention to Matt Clegg, who after 2 stages is 1st overall! Rather stuffed the rest of us I strongly suspect the youngster may have been doping with sherbet dabs,or whatever the kids are into these days, with a unbelievable result like that. We need to add my points to yours Richard and decla...
Hi Pete, I still have the email in my trash folder. I suspected it was probably connected to an Audax as the recipients addresses on the list included various other Beacon members. It's amazing the lengths these people go to in order to send out pointless sales emails that nobody in their right min...
I received an email from Pete Marshall earlier in the week entitled 'Important'. It was in fact just some kind of spam/ sales link. Evidently someone has accessed my email via his address book which is slightly concerning. As I don't have an email for you in my contacts this would seem unlikely. :)...

Stourport 4th Cat 25th August
Three riders in last night's Cat 4 race at Stourport. Robin Kirkham rode his first race, a valiant first effort in a race that had a fast start. Sadly a DNF, but he will be back Tim Egan and Matt Clegg worked well as a team throughout the race, only Matt's magnificent last lap attack prevented Tim f...

Entered. I am attempting a new record having more than 7 riders by the end of the first week.... And having Niballi and Aru on the same team, what a ridiculous idea :D Well, after 2 stages I have just 7 riders, thanks to Anacona's no-show (oopss not paying attention) and Nibali's 'indiscretion'! So...

The local authority doesn't bother telling either the race organiser or the people in charge of the road works be...

The critism I have read in L'equipe this year and regularly virtually since Sky came on the scene has been around their financial power , their secrecy, their use of TUE's and a rather generalised feeling of their "arrogance" ( French calling English arrogant and visa versa has a long history, Henry...

My own recollection is that l'Equipe initially dared only to print one or two faintly ambiguous headlines, that they did ultimately do some valuable investigative journalism, and that one or two determined individuals in the English-speaking press pursued the story doggedly. Meanwhile, 99% of the p...

For that sort of budget you are not going to get that decent a Carbon frame, but you could get a brand new Caad 10 with a decent groupset. Alu may not be all the fashion these days, but the Caad frame is a absolute classic and for the money better than any carbon frame in the same price bracket. Wis...
