Used 23mm gator skins for the last 4 winters. Only a couple of **flat**s. Grips ok don't really cut up and wear ok. I did try some Michelin Pro 4 endurance on my cross bike last year they seemed ok too. In the snow I used schwalbe land cruisers 35c on cross bike. Brilliant rode through all of it no ...

To follow up the Three Peaks we also did the Cycling Weekly Lakeland Monster on Sunday 6th Oct. This is 100k of mixed terrain. We suffered I have to say. It was also the only place in the UK yesterday with horrible weather. Two **flat**s and lots of wet. We did 6h 37m.

In practice though if you just turn it off it still saves the ride. The initial start press is necessary. Imagine you are at an event you turn the unit on it takes a few moments to locate satellites and the start may not be immediately if it just started when you turned it on it would record all the...

Club 10 championship for next year
It's roundabout this time of year that we have to start thinking about next years time trial calendar. The open 10 has not found an organiser for 2014 and as we usually use this as the 10 champs event we will have to allocate another one. There will be a meeting about this but I was wondering which ...

A really close contest and an enjoyable club time trial year. Well done Gaz and well done Martin for keeping the pressure on right up till the end. I'd especially like to thank Brian for looking after us all year and in previous seasons. Truly a Stirling job. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody ...

I agree with Ed I wouldn't train on the disc. If you want clinchers then its either going to be heavy or horribly expensive. I've been using a Gipiemme disc £700 ish from Planet X although I got mine from cult. It seems ok. Only works really though when everything is optimum. Ie feeling strong to ke...

Next weeks 6 miler is the last of the club evening time trials. I would think by then the handicap competition will be pretty much decided. To celebrate we should all go to the pub afterwards. There is a suitable establishment just round the corner which does lovely food etc.

Hilly 12 K35/6G, now with RESULT
Only a couple of non hill climb events left this year. This is the longer of our hilly events at 12 miles. It's an interesting course with two sharp climbs and two long drags. Weather looks to be good so see you all out there.

It's that time of year again. This could be really closely contested, if the right people come out to play. Steve, Paddy, Ed ??? I know Gary's out I'm bringing him. This is a nice course to ride some lumps and corners and stuff all makes it interesting. Should be no confusion over course this week I...

Why not do both. Try the time trial. That's easy just turn up and we will do the rest. Tudor grange is different but you don't know which type of racing you like yet. Silver BC membership will be fine you will just need to purchase temp racing licence on the day. Racing in a bunch is a bit of an aqu...
