Beacon bobble hat?
I know it’s the middle of summer, and thoughts of colder days are far away, but would anyone be interested if I got some beacon bobble hats made by the big bobble hat company? We can get some made in beacon colours, with a woven beacon badge on the front. Depending on numbers, they’ll be around £18 ...

What do you actually want it for? Road summer / road winter / touring / audax / racing / time-trialing... So many options you might need to narrow it down a bit? Yeah - I really loved my old roubaix, so probably similar relaxed geometry. I can’t see me on an aggressive racing set up!! Lol Our c2w i...

Re: New bike.... any thoughts?
So glad you got the insurance Helen, pity about the Roubaix though. There are so many good bikes about you will be spoiled for choice. Most brands get good reviews in Cycling Weekly. I'd still try some shops though and get a good fit. Red Kite have the Trek range nowadays not sure who has Specialis...

Ok, so Beacon hive mind, I’m looking for recommendations.... My Roubaix is a write off, but the lovely insurance people have paid out. So, I’m in the market for a new bike! The roubaix was the first road bike I ever bought and I got it coz I was clueless and the specialized store were nice to me! Lo...

Re: Track bike to commuter.....
Hi Helen - you will need brakes front and rear if going single speed - does it have a rear brake hole as well? Something like a 48t front / 18t rear would be good for commuting - that's a 72 inch gear :) Hi. Not sure. TBH, I’ve parked this idea at the moment. I’m too depressed about my summer bike ...

Today’s C run to the Meriden service started out well. 5 of us set off from the black horse. Unfortunately about 10 miles short of Meriden I suffered an almost terminal mehanical. The guys managed to turn it into a single speed and get the wheel back in, albeit in a quite low gear so I was peddling ...
