Not being there last night, I don't really want to stick my oar in to something I didn't experience, but just to say that I think it would be a shame to split the ride into two groups. I've really enjoyed the Wednesday ride getting faster, even when that means I've been hanging on for dear life, and...

Servicing Shimano SPD-SL pedals
The right-side Shimano 105 pedal (the side I unclip from when stopping) on my steel bike seems to have lost almost all of the tension in the binding. I've always had it on the loosest setting, so I guess I could just adjust it to make it tighter, but wondered if it might need servicing? Does anyone ...

Re: TdeF
Can't see Froome winning. My money is on Contador. why didn't Froome get up to the break yesterday. Cav saw what was happening and did something about it. Having said that it's easy to say from where I am, in a bar. Froome seemed to start to try to move across with Cavendish, looked over his should...

I finally bumped into Doug this Wednesday and it sounds like we're making some progress with this. It's been held up a bit by the difficulties of finding a coach and a convenient time, but looks like Greg might be leading it with his new coaching qualification. Hopefully there'll be more updates soon.

Thanks Chris, and well done Steve. Paul called it well with his betting tips!
By the way, I think Phil Richards's time needs adjusting because he rode a PB but isn't under 47 minutes. He seems to have two handicap times listed for the course - see comments here.

Is there any points available for riding the course solo in the day due to not being able to make it on the night? I know this is really cheeky but worth a shot! http://app.strava.com/activities/59908666 That would be a bit of a slippery slope. Conditions might have been different, the segment on S...

It will be interesting to hear what they say. The segment seems reasonably long, so one possibility could be that part of it is uphill and part of it down. If you really go for it on the uphill section (lots of watts) but then go very slowly on the downhill (not much different in power than if you w...

I'd like to say Led Zepp or AC/DC but the truth is that we went past a park somewhere in the Avon area that had a festival going on with the likes of Billy Ocean Go west and other names from the 70s and 80 so I was stuck with the real thing, and You to me are everything, in my head for the next few...

Porridge takes too long to prepare and sits heavily in the stomach. Contrary to Philip, I find that porridge is an ideal pre-cycling breakfast. Plenty of slow-release carbs. I also often eat it before going to bed at night as well, which I tell myself is OK because I once read that that's what Brad...

What are the chances of tonight's time trial taking place? It's been raining most of the day so far, and it rained most of yesterday, and I remember that last year one of the TTs on the Earlswood course was cancelled due to standing water. Is anyone planning on taking part?

If you scroll down to just below the map, there's a tab called "performance". That gives you a graph of elevation, speed, heart rate, etc. You can switch each variable on or off using the tick boxes above the graph. You can also switch Strava to miles () by hovering the mouse over your name up...

Anyone else thinking some of the Movistar team are on more than just 'pan y agua'? I don't really have much to add to my thoughts above, and this is the only bike fit I've had so I don't have anything to compare it to. It is expensive but part of the cost reflects the fact that you get the custom footbeds included and I reckon that it's pretty good value for money all things consi...
