I navigate with routes, not tracks, they are bit easier too see. I wish there was an option to NOT display waypoint names.

Most times people want to convert the GMAPSUPP.IMG from the GPS to the tiles needed by Mapsource. A bit of googling suggests it might be possible to do it the other way round but the best place to ask would probably be the Garmin support forum. I presume you bought the maps on card rather than CD? ...

I would also class myself as a recreational cyclist. If you have other ways of keeping fit over the winter (e.g. running, swimming. gym), then you probably don't need a turbo. You should soon get your 'cycling' fitness back after a few rides in the spring.

Don't worry about getting a flat on Sunday - there will be someone to help.

On the ride, you'll be able to get advice on what tools, tubes etc. to carry.

If you're really lucky someone else will have a flat and you can watch while it is fixed.

Without knowing how the thing calculates the 'distance' on its display it's difficult to say.

Of course, you and I both know that a properly calibrated computer is by far the most accurate way of measuring distance.
