Do you think it's worth putting these on a road bike for winter or a commuter bike? After all ther's nothing worse than getting a flat and having to replace a tube when the weather is very cold

you would think that replacing cables would be relatively simple, but when I was replacing the front gear changer on our tandem, it took me over an hour just to get the cable into the Shimano "rapid fire" changer. AND then I broke the plastic housing. So John, your experience does not surprse me. Dave

For instance, why canal towpaths? To begin with I enjoyed towpaths because they were traffic free and pleasant. I use an old Phillishave electric razor - it has a beard trimmer, which I use to get rid of the long hairs at the start of the season, and then the rotary head cutters every couple of weeks.

If you can't afford the recommended "Powertap Wireless" it's useful to have a computer with a HR measurement function. Cateye make some good models
