Oh forgot to mention.....if you change the chain set, the chances are that your bottom bracket will not be compatible either, so add another £18.23.

Assuming that you wanted to fit Shimano 105 equipement, then it would cost:- STi Levers - £144.46 Rear Mech - £33.96 Cassette - £34.96 Chain - £15.94 Bar Tape - £10 So £239.17 in total, based on Ribble prices. However, you need to make sure that your rear wheel will accept a 10sp cassette, otherwise...

You may also find this link very useful

You can convert most things to something else, tracks to routes and vice versa etc etc.

But its all a nightmare, maps are so much easier.

Oh regarding the creaking. I've never had any problems there. Any creaking ive had has been from my shoes. My suspicion has always been that the creaking didn't come from either the shoe or the pedal in its own right , but from movement/friction between the two. I agree, its clearly a tolerance iss...

Off topic a little but I have just replaced my old style Look pedals for the Keo version. I was hoping that over time Look would have sorted out the age old problems with the creaking shoe plates. At first I thought they had, but a few weeks on and they creak just as bad as the old ones did, if not ...

If you can stretch to it, get the eTrex Vista HCx and with City Navigator Europe NT 2009 maps. Agreed, I recently managed to get a brand new Etrex Vista HCx (including a 2gb Micro SD card) for less than £140 including postage. Search the net, you'll find some cracking deals. As a point of interest,...

Another vote for the Etrex HCx, but also bear in mind that to get the best from the Extrex or the Legend for that matter, you will also need to buy the Garmin mapping software. Two choices, either City Navigator or the Topo map, so add another £100 or so to your bill. Of course you don't hav...

Interesting thread, I bought a Garmin Edge 205 last year and this has now converted me to the joys of plotting courses and downloading them. However the Edge, is more of a training device than a mapping unit, so I am now looking to replace it with another more specific mapping unit. Having looked at...
