So glad you got the insurance Helen, pity about the Roubaix though. There are so many good bikes about you will be spoiled for choice. Most brands get good reviews in Cycling Weekly. I'd still try some shops though and get a good fit. Red Kite have the Trek range nowadays not sure who has Specialis...

Hi Helen - you will need brakes front and rear if going single speed - does it have a rear brake hole as well? I’ll lead the C to Meriden for the memorial service. It’ll be an 8am start, ride to lavender hall fisheries for breakfast, then on to Meriden for the service. Bring something warm if the weather is inclement.

It was a lovely ride in perfect weather (once the fog burnt off), although there is definitely a difference in opinion as to what constitutes a hill! Lol
