Oakes Farm has recently opened quite a sizeable café in Balsall Common (Balsall St, CV7 7AQ). Varied menu including bacon baps and beans on toast, prices reasonable. Nice atmosphere. Coffee cups are quite small, though.

The general consensus seems to be 3 years. The instructions with my Kask helmet says 5 years (although with caveats), so there's not much consistency.

Bike Dynamics use Dartfish, which is a one sided dynamic fit system. Retul measures both sides and will be available at a new shop in Hockley Heath soon, although it is more expensive.

11-28 is a good all round option, I reckon. If you're intending to do lots of steep hills, the 32t SRAM Apex is always an option. Anything larger than 28t is likely to need a longer rear mech, though.

Specialized did some testing and found that a 40km time trial was 1min 20s quicker by just adding tri bars to a road bike. You'll find that your position with tri bars brings you further forward on the saddle and rotates your hips, so saddle height and set back may need to be adjusted up and forward...

Thanks, guys. Following my crash the other week, my thinking was that the 25mm would have a larger contact patch and give a little more grip, particularly at the front. But considering the other variables, such as rubber composition and road surface (ice?) maybe it would not make too much difference...

I've just bought some Conti GP 4 Seasons. Meant to get 2 x 25mm but must have scrolled the mouse and got a 25mm + a 23mm (note to self - don't order stuff late at night without specs on).
