Oscar Hopkins has drawn our attention to the fact that Alan Lamb has recently died at the age of 97.
Alan was husband to Avril, daughter of Jack and Jeane Clements. As such, he often moved in Beacon circles in earlier decades, and will have been known to many older members. He was a head teacher before becoming Education Officer at Birmingham Cathedral and Steward at Birmingham Symphony Hall. He died peacefully at home on The Lizard, Cornwall, on Friday 26 May. The funeral service will be at Treswithian Downs Crematorium at 3pm on Tuesday 13 June. Donations in Alan's memory to the Lizard Lifeboat are invited.
