Yes, it's back after a 3-year gap! As well as Alan Weaver's two-day trip to Weston on the 29th/30th of June, there will be a one-day A/B ride down to Weston and back, two weeks earlier on Saturday the 15th June, starting at 05:30 from the Black Horse. This is a tough old day out, and is approximately 360kms round trip, so expected back in Northfield after midnight.
Route will be posted here and on FB but really hoping that the new cycle lane from Portishead into Weston will be open shortly, so will update and post the route when that is confirmed, but rough itinerary is head south west of the Severn estuary, via St Briavel's, Chepstow and the Severn bridge, and back on the flatter route via Slimbridge and Gloucester.
The Weston and back run is a Beacon tradition, so if you're new to the club, or an old-hand, it's something you should do at least once in your life...so your choice is this slightly faster one-day ride (16mph+), or the more sensible two-day ride two weeks later, the choice is yours.
