Bennie who is an old member of the Beacon has unfortunately suffered a stroke and is in hospital. His wife Anne says the prognosis is not good and he is paralysed down his right side and his speech has been affected. Our thoughts are with him and his family.

That's a shame. A great character and a very likeable man. (Although, at the risk of being inappropriately frivolous, I'm not sure that I'd be able to tell whether his speech had been affected.)

Sorry to hear the bad news. He only came out on our Thursday clubrun just over a month ago. He joined the Beacon in 1984.

Yes I met Bennie recently at the start of a Bournville Gentle Cycling trip he looked in good form and his usual cheerful self. Very sad to see him afflicted like this

So sorry to hear this news. Cycled LEJO with him and visited his home in Italy a few times. We wish him a speedy recovery.
