Just picked up the sad news of the death, this morning, of David Duffield.

David did his riding in the Beacon in the 50's and 60's> he was a flamboyant character, holder of many RRA Trike records, and later, of course, better known as a T de F commentator

Sad news indeed, remember him well. A great character. R.I.P. Dave.

I never had Eurosport but I remember the T of B coming through Malvern at while back and our gathering of Beacon RCC tifiosi being greated by Dave on the announcer's loud hailer as a premier Midlands Club as he came through in the official car! He probably said the same to other club fans but we were delighted! End of an era.

Sad news. I remember him well when we rode on the Isle of man in the fifties.
